This seven hour online course will provide necessary information for those practicing construction on the topics of workers' compensation, advanced building code requirements, business practices relative to change orders and project management.  The objectives of this course are to provide current industry information and trends on the state required topics.

Worker’s Compensation 

The student will be able to define and understand worker compensation insurance. 

The student will understand the current changes and concerns.

 

Advanced Building Code 

The student will understand the current State of Florida Code changes. 


Safety 
 
The student will gain an overview of OSHA safety requirements. 

The student will be able to develop a safety program. 

The student will understand the advantages of executing a safety plan

 

Change Orders 

The student will gain an understanding of how to determine changes according to the contract. 

The student will be able to properly process change orders. 

 

Project Management 

The student will gain and understanding of the purpose and scope of project management. 

The student will be able to identify and establish necessary project management controls.  The student will be exposed to different estimating methodologies. 

The student will gain an understanding of scheduling and how to apply it to a project. 

The student will be able to determine the project controls that are necessary on a construction project. 

The student will gain an understanding of the advantages of applying integrated project management controls.

Certified Construction Industry (CILB) Contractors - This course, taken in conjunction with '7 Hour Online Course #4' will satisfy all 14 hours that are required for your continuing education that is due on August 31st, 2010.

Electrical (ECLB) Contractors
- This course, taken in conjunction with either 'Electrical Principles and Practice', 'Short-Circuit Testing' OR '2008 NEC Code Changes' will satisfy all 14 hours that are required for your continuing education that is due on August 31st, 2010.
 
Registered Construction Industry (CILB) Contractors - This course, taken in conjunction with '7 Hour Online Course #4' will satisfy all 14 hours that are required for your continuing education that is due on August 31st, 2011.
