Laws and Rules – Chapter 489

The student will gain an understanding of constructing industry licensing laws.

The student will be to determine licensing requirements.

 

Wind Mitigation Methodologies

The student will gain an understanding of Florida building code requirements for wind mitigation.

The student will learn how to apply techniques for gable-end bracing.

The student will learn how to strengthen roof-decking attachments and fasteners during reproofing

The student will learn how to construct improved roof-to-wall connections.

 

Moisture Infiltration

The student will be able to define the causes of moisture infiltration.

The student will be able to identify the problems that result from moisture infiltration.  The student will gain an understanding of how to avoid moisture infiltration at the jobsite.

 

Project Management

The student will gain an understanding of the purpose and scope of project management.

The student will understand how scheduling and estimating impact a project and their importance in project management.

The student will be able to identify and establish necessary project management controls.
