Florida Engineer Laws & Rules (1 credit hours)
This course is designed to meet the Florida Board of Professional Engineers continuing education requirement that a minimum of 1 PDH per renewal period must be devoted to study of recent changes (that affect engineering practice) in:
 
Chapter 61G15 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC), “Board of Professional Engineers Organization & Purpose”
 
Chapter 455 of Title XXXII of the Florida Statutes – “Business and Professional Regulation: General Provisions”
 
Chapter 471 of Title XXXII of the Florida Statutes - “Engineering”
 
Study of recent disciplinary actions taken by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers is also included.

Participants will understand the changes in Chapter 471 relating to the Board of Professional Engineers, Examinations (for licensing), Licensure, Renewal of license and certification of business organizations.
 
Participants will learn about changes in Chapter 455 relating to General licensing provisions.
 
Participants will become familiar with changes in Chapter 61G15, F.A.C., relating to Public Comment, Citations, Educational Requirements for Applicants without EAC/ABET Accredited Degrees, Written Examination Designated; General Requirements, Continuing education requirements, and Procedures for Signing and Sealing Electronically Transmitted Plans, Specifications, Reports or Other Document, Schedule of Fees, Retention of Engineering Documents, the Qualification Program for Special Inspectors of Threshold Buildings, and Performance Standards and Measurable Outcomes.
 
Participants will learn about recent disciplinary actions involving violations of Chapter 471.
