Belt Filter Presses - Part 6 - Operational and Maintenance Issues (1 credit hours)
Part 6 of this series describes the operational and maintenance issues encountered in the use of a belt filter press.  Issues affecting the operation of press due to the machine and the process are discussed. With a little knowledge of how the press works when performing its intended function one can overcome any difficulty that may arise.  Some operational issues will be remedied by machine adjustments while others will be remedied by process adjustments. Maintenance, both corrective and preventive, is discussed.  Corrosion in the wet environment and contact between dissimilar metals can create maintenance issues.  Means to avoid and correct corrosion are described.
