This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Students will learn the different requirements of specified-interval maintenance, as-needed maintenance, replacement, repair, and upgrading for most types of bridges (except suspension bridges), including timber, steel, and concrete.
- Students will become familiar with the procedures appropriate for repairing and strengthening a wide variety of components such as abutments, piers and bents, concrete beams and girders, floor systems, trusses, bearings, and decks.
