This course is an overview of the basics of project estimating.  The importance of accuracy, thoroughness and completeness is emphasized and explained.  The elements of the estimate, material, labor, overhead, burden, contingencies, allowances and more are discussed.  Tips on how to use a spreadsheet to speed the estimating process and improve accuracy are included.  Case histories of failed jobs that resulted from poor estimating and lack of planning and care are included along with a brief discourse on ethics.
