Course Description
This course has been approved by the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board (ECLB) to satisfy the continuing education requirement for a one-hour course in laws and rules regulating electrical and alarm system contractors.  Excerpts from the Florida Statutes (F.S.) and Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) are presented that cover a variety of topics of importance to electrical contractor licensees. Applications of the laws and rules are illustrated with five case studies of disciplinary actions taken by the ECLB against licensees.

Learning Objectives
·Course participants will understand the distinction between Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code.
 
·Course participants will become familiar with the structure, membership, and legal basis of the ECLB.
 
·Course participants will be cognizant of those acts which constitute grounds for disciplinary action.
 
·Course participants will become familiar with continuing education requirements for licensees.
 
·Course participants will know the Standards of Practice set by the ECLB.
 
·Course participants will understand rules related to minor violations, reinstatement, probation, and mediation.
 
·Course participants will understand rules governing certification and examinations.
 
·Course participants will learn the consequences of violating F. S. Chapters 455 and 489, Part I; and Chapters of the F.A.C.61G6 Division.
