Professional Ethics for Engineers is a continuing education course designed to strengthen ethical awareness and decision-making in engineering practice. This 1 hour course is organized into three modules covering ethical fundamentals and engineering licensure responsibilities, professional codes of ethics, and advanced topics such as artificial intelligence.
Participants examine conflicts between technical duties, professional obligations, and public safety. The course emphasizes the importance of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public in NSPE and ASCE ethical frameworks. Further explanation of these frameworks enables participants to develop skills needed to recognize and resolve ethical challenges in modern engineering practice.
