Project Management - Panama Canal Case Study (CILB# 0611444) satisfies 2 hours general (2 credit hours)
The current $5.2 billion, ten year expansion project at the Panama Canal has been a textbook example in how to implement project management on one of the world’s largest construction projects. This course will present a brief history of the Panama Canal along with the planning and innovation necessary to construct the Panama Canal. The scope of the current expansion program to add a third set of locks will be covered along with the project structure necessary to complete the project. The integrated project management approach utilized on the project will be presented. Finally, a review of the progress of the Panama Canal Expansion Project will be conducted.
