Texas Engineering Practice Act and Rules Ch. 137 (1 credit hours)
This one course is designed to meet the Texas Board of Professional Engineers continuing education requirement that a minimum of 1 PDH per renewal period must be in the area of professional ethics, roles and responsibilities of professional engineering, or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Rules.  The course consists of a review of Chapter 137 (Compliance and Professionalism) of Title 22, Part 6, of the Texas Administrative Code.

This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
  • Students will understand the proper use of the professional engineer seal.
  • Students will learn when competitive bidding is and is not allowed.
  • Students will be informed of the expectation of professional engineers to protect the public, be objective and truthful, and be competent in their engineering work.
  • Students will know the requirements for engineering firm registration compliance.
